The Arts

Tourism in Frankfort currently revolves around our many historical attractions and excellent parks, but we are also blessed with a vibrant arts community. By capitalizing on our abundance of state and nationally recognized artists, writers, musicians, etc., I believe we can cement a reputation as a destination for arts tourism. I will support a regional arts festival in Frankfort, and will encourage and support the arts throughout our community. I will also work to establish an umbrella organization for all the artists and arts groups in Franklin County.

As Frankfort's youth come of age, they face a choice between remaining in our community or making their home elsewhere. We need to retain our youth, and attract new community members, if we are to thrive as a city. A strong art scene is a great way to attract and engage the young people we need. It is also necessary for the revitalization of downtown.
