Revitalization of Downtown

Our historic downtown is the heart of Frankfort, and I fully support its revitalization.Inadequate parking is a significant setback to any revitalization effort.  I support diagonal parking on Broadway instead of parallel parking, increasing capacity at little expense. I will also push for signs to direct people to parking garages (many people weren't aware of the underutilized parking garage on St. Clair, and still don't know that the Farmer's Bank parking garage is free on nights and weekends).I will direct the Devolopment Authority to fill in empty spaces in our city rather than only courting new properties on the outskirts.I will work to strengthen the arts in Frankfort, which has consistently been shown to breathe new life into downtown areas.
