Public Transportation

Public transportation is important for a number of reasons. It can be cheaper to take a bus than to drive, especially with gas prices on the rise again. Taking a bus is much more energy-efficient than driving. It also reduces wear-and-tear on our roads, saving us tax money over time. Personally, I enjoy public transportation because it provides a good opportunity to read or do work while in transit. I will continue to support our bus system, and also think we could make good use of the Kentucky River to provide some very unique public transportation.  Given the opportunity, I would love to see a regular commuter train between Lexington and Louisville with stops in Frankfort, Midway and Shelbyville.
